| Resume [pdf] |
Ben Cotton, the owner of FunnelFiasco.com, was born in New Albany, Indiana. As a youngster, he was terrified of storms. One day, the fear turned to fascination. He's now a 2006 graduate of Purdue University, with a degree in Synoptic Meteorology and a minor in Organizational Leadership & Supervision. Ben has been an avid storm chaser since 2002 and has logged several thousand miles of travels chasing in 6 states. Ben's other interests include photography, writing ugly Perl code, Linux, SimCity 2000, and baseball. Ben is married to a beautiful young lady by the name of Angie. In his free time, Ben gorges himself silly on Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets.
Ben now works at a preeminent Midwestern university as a Systems Research Engineer. He supports the BoilerGrid and related projects. Ben is a Red Hat Certified Technician and an Apple Certified Support Professional. His career goals include becoming a Certified Internet Systems Security Professional. In June 2009, Ben joined the Documentation group for the Fedora Project. For Ben's thoughts on his interests (and disinterests!), visit the Funnel Fiasco blog.
